Energy healing for horses helps to relieve a variety of conditions in the horse: from behavioral, such as anxiety or mistrust; to physical ones, including chronic pain and acute illness. It’s a holistic approach; it not only addresses the physical body but the spiritual, emotional and mental health of the horse, as well.
Horses Recover More Quickly from Physical Issues
Acute illness, surgery, acute wounds and lameness are some of the physical problems that respond to healing energy. This form of treatment often generates rapid improvement in the horse.
Tick Borne Diseases
Energy healing for animals can support medical treatment for Lyme and Anaplasmosis treatment, helping horses recover more quickly. One case was informational as the owner had taken bloodwork 5 days before the healing and another panel 17 days after. The gelding had clear, marked Lyme symptoms. The numbers indicating inflammation and fighting an infection were remarkable. So were the results:
Bloodwork: Before Normal After
Platelet Count 68 100-400 233
Neutrophils 966 2600-7500 2508
Hematocrit 31.4 32-50 34.5
Energy healing creates powerful change and much of it is hidden to the eye. This bloodwork sheds some light on this truth.
Wounds Heal Faster
Energy healing is effective on many levels. By restructuring the energetic template of an area of the physical injury can heal more quickly. I’ve seen wounds from surgery, such as castration, heal in half the usual time. With this type of surgery, the emotional trauma can create the deepest wound. Energy healing addresses the animal holistically and can clear, for instance; the emotional shock, anger and grief that the stallion or colt may experience.
Laminitis Attack Ceases
An American Quarter Horse that I had previously worked with had an acute laminitis attack. He had been lying down all day, when his owner called me, and he had bounding pulses in all four feet. Fifteen minutes into the long-distance healing, the horse stood up and the pulses in all of his feet had returned to normal.
Lameness Improves
Even old injuries can heal. A Warmblood who had a leg injury when she was a foal became head-bobbing lame on that leg. She came to a nearly sound condition with one healing session.
Increased Fluidity of Movement
Some horses unfortunately have had debilitating injuries, yet they respond to energy healing. They have a reduction in pain and an improved sense of well-being. Horses that are quite lame will often stand more squarely afterwards and move off with more fluidity.
What Appear to be Permanent Conditions Improve
Energy healing for horses permeates deeply; chronic tension that is has been held in the tissues of the body releases. As the defensive patterns of holding let go, the bones and their articulations are able to move towards their optimum relationships and the structural alignment of the horse improves. What had appeared to be conformational flaws, such as a horse not lifting through the chest or not standing underneath itself, diminish as the horse becomes more balanced. Since healing is a non-invasive, this process occurs without force; without creating additional inflammation or damage to the body.
Confirmation Can Change
An old gelding had advanced arthritis in his hind limbs. As the result of compensation for this condition he developed increased convex curvature in his lumbar spine. I worked with this horse once a month over a period of time and as he released his long-term patterns of holding in his body, the curvature dissipated until it became normal. The natural hoof trimmer, who had trimmed the horse, saw him after a two-year absence and exclaimed, “That horse looks ten years younger than he looked four years ago!”
Leg Alignment Improves
The alignment of leg of the equine leg can change. This can stun owners to witness. Energy healing effects the entire body, even when primarily focused on one area. The alignment is corrected with local adjustments, to balance the flow of energy throughout the limb and the correlating misalignments in the body come into balance, as well.
Healing Addresses Behavioral and Training Issues
In addition to the physical body, healing addresses the mind and spirit of the horse. The attitude and disposition of horses always improve as a result. Sometimes a problematic behavior becomes the main focus of a healing and after the session marked, positive changes occur. With training issues, I sometimes work with the owner and the horse together to identify and resolve the deeper issue.
Dissolving Resistance and Creating Partnership
A Thoroughbred mare lacked confidence and was resistant to much of her owner’s direction. During a healing session the mare literally walked away, refusing to participate. I followed her out of the barn and then spoke to her lovingly and explicitly; I encouraged her to take responsibility for her old pattern of mistrusting humans. I helped her to make a distinction between her present situation and past experience. As a result, the mare chose to appreciate her caregiver and to put an effort into her half of the relationship. Everything shifted for the two of them and they began a positive partnership that continues to this day.
Uncovering and Healing Issues Beneath Defensive Behavior
Life threatening fear is a very real occurrence. It affects the heart, the terror is that deep, and the mental and emotional effects become a hinderance for a horse throughout their life, as exemplified in this story.
A client purchased a new pony that kicked out whenever the owner touched either of her hind legs. During the healing session it became apparent that the pony mare experienced real life-threatening fear in response to having her hind legs handled that needed to be honored and released. Afterward the owner was able to pick up and pick out the mare’s hooves without any fear response.
Healing Improves the Horse’s Overall Condition
Energy healing for animals clears and balances the energetic and physical bodies. This opening up of the energy and physical channels creates immediate improvement in the horse’s condition. This increase in the life flow of energy in the horse’s body strengthens their life force and allows for the body to continue healing itself over time.
The Increased Flow of Energy Help Eliminate Toxins
The increase in the flow of energy as a result of healing sometimes creates detoxification symptoms. Most notably, from my experience, this happens with one Standardbred horses that had a long history on the track. After three healings his system was strong enough to detox and two sores the side of quarters opened up on the sides of his head. This release of toxins is followed by an immediate improvement in the horse’s health and disposition; they become more relaxed and confident and have improvement in their health overall.
Open Sores Disappear
I had a case where an off the track horse who was put on an herbal mix to by his owner to assist him with detoxification. The horse had had open sores all over all four legs for several weeks. When I saw the horse, it was apparent to me that the sores were just one of the symptoms; that the horse’s organs where sluggish and his elimination system was overloaded. Even though the herbs were stimulating his body to detoxify, his level of vitality was too low for his organs and body to eliminate them efficiently and completely. As a result they were coming through his skin. The healing energy facilitated movement through his organs and increased the horse’s vital energy and health overall. The morning after the healing session, his owner notified me that all of the open wounds on his legs were gone.
Allergic Reactions Resolve Quickly
Hives are an allergic response in a horse, and at times the size and number of them can be alarming. Healing energy stimulates the circulation and supports the body’s natural process of elimination, which causes hives to clear faster than expected. In one case, via distance, cleared the hives before the veterinarian arrived, minimizing the mare’s the need for steroids.
Emotional and Mental Issues Resolve
Most horse have had multiple owners throughout their lifetime. They experience a variety of circumstances and by the time they come into our hands, or arrive at the local rescue, they’ve often experienced trauma. Healing excels in its ability to address mental and emotional issues in horses. It leads them out of the fog of a difficult past; these horses become happy, affectionate and at peace.
Depression
Depression is common in horses that have suffered extended abuse. One cold-blood came from an auction lot to an equine rescue where I volunteer was an extreme case. He was sullen, he would not touch or socialize with any horse. He stood always alone, not even entering the shared turn-out shed to avoid the sun or flies. The director of the non-profit was concerned, as it went on for six months and she wanted him to have a quality of life during his retired years. After his second healing session he began to socialize with another draught horse. After his fourth he had fully acclimated to the herd and became a very happy, horse.
Fear/Anxiety
Fear and anxiety are common in horses and a clear example is a sweet little paint mare. Her owner was longing for trust in their relationship, but the mare had tremendous fear which affected her ability to be safely ridden. The previous owner had been “heavy handed” and the mare’s anxiety was so high she would regularly poop and pee while on the cross ties. After one session the owner was thrilled to report her mare had become calm, easy to train and a quick learner.
Isolation/Insomnia
Horses are herd animals and gain a sense of safety in numbers. Although not ideal, sometimes a horse is in a situation where they need to live alone. Without a shared watchful eye at night, solitary horses can develop insomnia. A woman in Europe contacted me about her senior mare in this situation. She lived on her property, but circumstances were such that she was now the only horse. She was not lying down at night, appeared to be sleep-deprived and suffering from exhaustion. After the session she began moving really-well and laying down to sleep.
What Healing Can’t Help
Unfortunately healing cannot help horses with brain damage, typically due to difficulty at birth. The horse improves, but the changes do not hold. This becomes clear in two sessions. Healing has helped several dedicated owners of horses with these types of injury become clear about their horse’s limitations, so they can care for them accordingly.
